Southern Belle Hosts a Special Brunch Celebrating the Release of "Southern Cooking, Global Flavors" Cookbook from Chef Kenny Gilbert
Southern Belle chef Joey Ward is thrilled to announce that he will host award-winning chef Kenny Gilbert for the launch of his new cookbook, “Southern Cooking, Global Flavors.” In honor of the celebration, the Poncey-Highland restaurant is bringing back its brunch for one day only on Sunday, July 30.
Chefs Ward and Gilbert have planned a mouth-watering four-course tasting menu of recipes from “Southern Cooking, Global Flavors,” along with some classic brunch favorites from Southern Belle. Guests also will enjoy specially crafted brunch beverage pairings (non-alcoholic options will be available).
The epic four-course brunch menu starts with a welcome cocktail and features:
First Course
Assorted baked goods with jams and butters
Second Course
Flavor bomb chicken and biscuit made with smoky fried chicken thigh, flavor bomb sauce and truffle smoked Gouda biscuit
or
Mac muffin with an English muffin topped with egg yolk, country ham, truffle and caviar
Third Course
Bajan-style Creole fish with cou cou (okra polenta), tomato pepper sauce, baby zucchini and Bajan hot sauce
or
French dip with beef fat fries and salad
Dessert Course
Florida citrus cake with blackberries
or
Peaches and cream
Communal seating tickets are $100, which includes service and a welcome cocktail. Reservations can be made via Resy. Books are available for presale ($28) and pick up at the brunch. Southern Belle also is working with A Cappella Books to have books available to purchase on-site for $35.
