On Tuesday, Jan. 25, Cold Beer welcomes Alabama chef Kelsey Barnard Clark to a reception and discussion of her book “Southern Grit.” Released this past fall, the book offers a fresh take on Southern cooking with more than 100 down-home recipes for modern cooks along with tips for entertaining, stocking the pantry and more.

Cold Beer is celebrating “Southern Grit” with a cocktail reception starting at 5:30 p.m. that includes an opportunity to mingle and chat with Clark, a book discussion and signing, and passed hors d’oeuvre and two cocktails. A cash bar will be available for additional drinks.

Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, Clark runs Kelsey Barnard Catering and KBC, her restaurant in downtown Dothan. She also teaches cooking classes and appears at culinary events. Clark got her start in the food industry working for a high-end caterer and catered her first solo wedding at 15. The Culinary Institute of America graduate has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City including Café Boulud and Dovetail. She also is the winner and fan favorite of Season 16 of Bravo’s “Top Chef” and is the fifth woman and first Southerner to win the competition.

Tickets to the reception and book signing are $65 per person and include a copy of “Southern Grit.” Tickets are available now on Resy.
