Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Coming Soon to Old Fourth Ward

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the NYC-born, nationally beloved brand known for its cult-favorite dairy and vegan ice cream, announces its first Atlanta scoop shop, to be located at Ponce City Market. Van Leeuwen is known nationally for creative seasonal flavors made with only good ingredients, and unexpected flavor collaborations such as Maren Morris Orange Dreamsicle ice cream in partnership with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Maren Morris, BIGFACE Coffee Affogato in partnership with NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, Hidden Valley Ranch, and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

The premiere Atlanta location will feature a limited-time sundae in partnership with Bomb Biscuit Co., the MICHELIN recognized concept serving bold, buttery biscuits in Atlanta’s Grant Park neighborhood. “Ice cream is probably my second favorite thing to eat outside of biscuits, so it’s wild to see this sundae come to life,” says Erika Council, founder and executive chef of Bomb Biscuit Co. “I’m honored to have been chosen to collaborate and be a part of Van Leeuwen’s opening celebrations in Atlanta.”

“We’re so happy to finally bring Van Leeuwen to Atlanta,” says Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. “Atlanta is such a great American southern city and we’ve had our eye on it for some time. Now that we’ve found a location that we love, we can’t wait to begin scooping our ice cream for our new neighbors. Plus, we have partnered with Bomb Biscuit Co. to create a limited-time sundae to celebrate our first Atlanta scoop shop - it’s one you won't want to miss!”

Van Leeuwen’s Ponce City Market location will feature more than 30 signature flavors including its award-winning Vanilla Bean (named best vanilla ice cream by The New York Times/Wirecutter), Honeycomb, Sicilian Pistachio (made with Pistachios sourced from Mount Etna in Sicily), Marionberry Cheesecake (made with vine-ripened berries from Oregon farm partner Stahlbush Island Farms), Praline Butter Cake and Earl Grey Tea, in addition to sundaes, housemade waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches, root beer floats, milkshakes and pints to-go.

Van Leeuwen’s Ponce City Market scoop shop is located at 619 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, Suite B109, Atlanta, GA 30308. For more information about Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, follow the brand on Instagram @vanleeuwenicecream or visit vanleeuwenicecream.com.

About Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Van Leeuwen began as a yellow scoop truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 by Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill, who were on a mission to make good ice cream from good ingredients that makes you feel good. Their French-style ice cream (made with more than double the amount of egg yolks as standard ice cream) quickly gained a loyal following. Van Leeuwen has since expanded and has scoop shops in New York, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, DC, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas, Tennessee and Florida. Pints, ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches are available in grocery stores across the country and to order for nationwide shipping from their website.
