On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Atlanta Braves invite fans to celebrate the anniversary of Hank Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run with a block party in Summerhill, the site of that historic moment on April 8, 1974. The Braves will be in Summerhill, one of Atlanta’s most historic neighborhoods, for the 3rd annual Block Party to celebrate the 2026 season and the return of Braves baseball. Fans can enjoy activations along bustling Georgia Avenue as the Braves take over to celebrate the beginning of the season while the team is on the road facing the Los Angeles Angels.
Special appearances will be made by Braves entertainment teams, including BLOOPER, the Heavy Hitters, and Tomahawk Team. Fans can enjoy live performances and interactive elements, including a watch party, lawn games and contests, food and drinks from local restaurants, and more. Block party festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. and First Pitch will take place at 4:08 p.m., with areas to view the Braves game set up along Georgia Avenue and Reed Street in the nearby courtyard and beer garden.
The Braves Country Road Trip will also make an appearance at the Summerhill Opening Day Block Party, rolling in with a fresh new look inspired by classic Americana and the golden age of Route 66. In honor of the Braves’ move to Atlanta in 1966, this year’s activation will offer a nostalgic experience for fans across the southeast, with each stop to feature a life-size Braves Country map wall, where fans can pin their hometown, represent their corner of Braves Country, and snap a keepsake photo with a real Polaroid camera, just like the road trips of old. Additionally, fans can share their journey through personalized Braves postcards, as well as celebrate their home state by collecting a limited edition, custom state poster designed by a Braves Country artist.
