From Grove to Glass: A Sensory Olive Oil Experience With Chef Whitney Otawka

  • Vino Venue 4478 Chamblee Dunwoody Road Atlanta, GA, 30338 United States (map)

Kick off 2026 with a deliciously immersive evening celebrating one of the world’s most misunderstood ingredients: olive oil. Join Les Dames D'Escoffer, Atlanta Chapter at Vino Venue in Dunwoody for a curated Olive Oil Tasting led by former Atlanta Dame, Chef Whitney Otawka of Savannah, GA—Chef & Education Ambassador for Corto Olive Oil, cookbook author, recipe developer and perpetual traveler.

In this 45-minute mini masterclass, Whitney will guide us through the sensory analysis of olive oil, reminding us that olive oil is, at its heart, a fruit juice. Together we’ll swirl, smell and sip four distinct oils, learning how to detect fresh fruit characteristics, understand the differences between fall and winter harvests, and appreciate the aromas and flavors that truly great olive oil brings to the plate. The tasting will be followed by an open Q&A, inviting curiosity and conversation.

The evening will also feature thoughtfully prepared light bites and a wine tasting provided by Dame Emily Mendyka, owner of Vino Venue, making this both an educational and indulgent way to start the year.

To ensure the best tasting experience, Whitney asks that all participants arrive with a clean palate so we can fully savor the nuance of each oil. Come ready to learn, taste and connect as we toast to a flavorful start to 2026.
