Recipe: Krystal’s Signature Secret Stuffing

This Secret Stuffing recipe has been a family favorite for generations and ensures everyone comes home for the holidays. INGREDIENTS
- Sackful of 24 Krystals with no cheese or pickles (You’ll need 20 for this recipe) 
- 1 quart chicken stock 
- 1 cup melted margarine or unsalted butter 
- 5 large eggs, lightly beaten 
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh sage, minced 
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper 
- 2 teaspoon kosher salt 
- 2 cups celery, diced small 
- 2 cups white or yellow onion, diced small 
DIRECTIONS
- Enjoy four Krystals right away, then place the remaining 20 Krystals (without cheese or pickles) in the refrigerator and cool overnight. 
- When you’re ready to cook, preheat oven to 375 degrees. 
- Combine all ingredients except the Krystals into a large mixing bowl using a wire whisk. 
- Cut Krystals into bite-sized pieces and gently fold into the ingredient mixture with a rubber spatula until moistened (be careful not to over mix). 
- Spray a 9x13”, 3 qt baking dish with non-stick spray. 
- Pour stuffing mixture into baking dish. 
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes. 
- Allow the stuffing to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
