Wylie & Rum’s Island Burger Brings the Heat for National Burger Month
May is National Burger Month, and Atlanta is known for its exceptional burger offerings. When Wylie & Rum co-owner David Lewis originally mapped out the eatery’s menu, he wasn’t planning to include a burger—until Tony Lewis, his business partner and father, insisted. The compromise? “It had to be damn good,” said Tony. The result is the Island burger: a bold, flavor-packed creation featuring an eight-ounce patty of ground brisket and sirloin grilled with jerk spices, layered with Swiss cheese, tobacco onions and a fiery habanero aioli, all on a toasted H&F brioche bun. Add-ons like grilled pineapple or ghost pepper cheese further elevate the island flair. A plant-based Impossible Island burger offers the same craveable heat and texture for non-meat eaters. Served with fries and priced at $15.95, these burgers are unapologetically Caribbean, chef-crafted and made to stand out in a city known for stellar burgers. Reservations can be made online.
